it seems just like yesterday you were here…

i saw you last May struggling, with all the tubes
on your body, making me feel helpless. if only i
can take your place then, breathe for you, be
strong for you, i would have.

come November 2, i won’t be able to visit you
on your grave.

eating your favorite ice cream,
wearing your favorite dress,
